Show Key Points
Cincinnati will experience a big change in the weather as spring-like warm temps give way to unexpected cold and snow this Thursday. Residents have experienced mild as well as sunny weather throughout the week when suddenly, as they wake up on Thursday, they will find a brief but significant winter coming upon them.
According to meteorologists, the roadways could become hazardous during the morning drive because temperatures are dropping from the 60's to close to freezing before hitting the ground. The snow will only be around for a short amount of time.
However, the abrupt switch in weather again illustrates how unpredictable the seasons are transitioning between winter and spring in this area.
Authorities are advising residents to remain alert, check their local weather and take precautions when the Queen City makes this abrupt swing from spring to winter.

Expected Temperatures and Weather Conditions
Expect temperatures in Cincinnati to decline rapidly on Thursday due to a cold front moving into our area.
Morning highs will drop from the mild approximate 60 degree temperatures on Wednesday down to about 35 degrees.
Snowfall is expected on Thursday morning with the highest amount of accumulation occurring on roads and sidewalks and grass.
Wind chill will make it feel colder than it actually is. Early afternoon will see snow showers tapering off followed by some clearing of the sky, but the rest of the day will be much cooler than earlier in the week.
People should dress in layers for both the cold and slippery conditions of the outdoor environment.
When and Where Snow Showers Will Hit?
Cincinnati will see some light snow from about 6 AM until around 10 to11 AM on Thursday morning.
On average this happens in the northern and western parts of Cincinnati. During that time, drivers can expect slick roads on bridges, overpasses, or unplowed streets.
They should also take into consideration that roads in suburbs outside of Cincinnati will likely have a little more accumulation and therefore may still have ice later once temperatures in these suburbs have dropped below freezing.
Because of how short-lived the snow will be, drivers and pedestrians should remain vigilant and allow themselves extra time for their commute until conditions improve later in the day.
What to Expect Thursday Morning?
-
A few snow showers beginning early
-
Cold temperatures decline from 60's into or near the freezing range
-
Possibility of slippery roadways and localized travel disruptions
-
Winds will make the commute colder than earlier
