NCERT Textbook Shortage Class 9: The NCERT has faced criticism from a number of stakeholders including teachers, parents, and student unions, with the new academic session already here. Despite months passing since the start of the new academic session, the fact remains that the essential texts pertaining to mathematics and science are completely missing for the students of the ninth standard taking up studies in Hindi medium. It can be seen that while enough copies of English versions of the books are available, the Hindi versions are not available and hence students who belong to local dialects are at a loss.
This is what makes many debates rage about the negligence of the authorities regarding resource parity between students of regional languages and those who study in other media. The lack of textbooks is bound to lead to considerable problems as teachers would waste time copying down the entire chapter in blackboard and the unfortunate students would not get even the photocopy or PDF version of the book.
